Black Paper Party

Black Paper Party was co-founded by Madia Willis (CEO), Jasmine Hudson (Chief Merchant), and J’Aaron Merchant (Chief Character Illustrator)—three Black women who leveraged their extensive backgrounds in retail, textile design, animation, and visual storytelling to address the lack of representation in holiday decor. Combining Madia’s expertise in global textile design and product sourcing for retail giants like Target and Walmart, Jasmine’s background scaling multi-billion-dollar retail portfolios, and J’Aaron’s experience illustrating for major media brands like Disney and Sesame Street, the trio creates culturally relevant wrapping paper, ornaments, and holiday goods that celebrate Black families and bring authentic representation to seasonal traditions.
